SEWING

Sewing is an old hobby, commonly known to have many, many styles.
We should bring back the beautiful historic hobby- Sewing. People come up with beautiful designs!

Bookmarks

Bookmarks are fun and easy to make. They also allow you recycle old tickets, gift cards, gift wrap and magazine pictures. You can make them really personal and they also make a fun gift for fellow bookworms.

Decide what you would like to make your bookmark out of, if you're using something thin like gift-wrap or magazine clippings, you will need to make a backing card. You can also use scrapbook paper if you have it, because some has glitter. Even if it doesn't, scrapbook paper comes in many unique designs that anyone will like. If you're using an old concert ticket or gift-card trim to your desired size then proceed to step 5.
Cut a piece of card to your desired size 1.5 inches x 6 inches works well.
If needed, cut your subject (e.g.: gift wrap, magazine clippings, etc.) down to the same size as your card.
Glue your subject to either one or both sides of the card and allow to dry, trim any shaggy edges to a neat crisp line.
Preheat your laminator and place your bookmark inside a laminating pouch. if you dont have a laminator go on with step 7.
Once laminated, trim the edges to approx 4mm wider than your bookmark.
Punch a hole in the middle of the top of the bookmark to thread your tassel through.
To make your tassel, select some thin ribbon in a coordinating color about 12-14 inches.
Fold the ribbon in half and tie a thick knot about 1 inch from the ends.
Thread 1-3 beads onto the ribbon & tie another knot above the beads to secure them.
Loop the "tassel" through the hole in the bookmark to finish.
